On to my project for today!!

HB-Mermaid-1

There are so many underwater products in this release, but I just couldn’t resist this little mermaid!! I began by stamping some images from Mermaid Wishes and Ocean Reef Builder with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic markers, then I fussy cut them out. There are Mermaid Wishesand Ocean Reef Builder Coordinating Dies available, but I didn’t want the white edge, so I just trimmed them out with my scissors. I also ran around the edge of my images with a black Tombow marker, once they were cut out.

HB-Mermaid-2

For the background I ink blended some Distress Oxide Inks onto a couple of pieces of Bristol paper, splattered it with water and picked up the excess with a paper towel. A stencil and some white pigment ink were used for light rays coming through the water. I trimmed down the “sand” piece and adhered it over the water background. After figuring out placement of my images, I did add some shading to the sand with Copic markers and then adhered all of the images. The greeting is a combination of sentiments from the Mermaid Wishes and Ocean Reef Builder stamp sets, and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I did stamp some bubbles with white pigment ink and some fish with Distress Oxide Ink. A few details were added with a white gel pen and my card was finished!!

HB-Mermaid-3

PS…the new Scenes From the Sea stencil would be an awesome addition to the new ocean sets, I just didn’t have it when I made my card.

I also created a couple of cards for sneak peeks earlier this week…

summer-school-1.jpg

This one uses the Summer School Stencil with an image and sentiment from Ocean Reef Builder. I just hand-drew in the little banner and added some Raining Rhinestones Embellishments.

Cupcake-1

The Sweet Surprise stamp set was used with the Birthday Cake Sprinkles for this one!!
