Happy 4th BEEday Blog Hop – Day 2

Blog Hop Day 2 Banner

Hello & welcome to Day 2 of the blog hop celebrating Honey Bee’s 4th Anniversary!! Congratulations to Melissa and her team on this wonderful milestone and accomplishment!! Honey Bee has grown by leaps and bounds in the last four years and I, for one, can’t wait to see what the future holds!!

You should have arrived here from the oh-so-talented Bibi Cameron’s Blog!! I have also included a complete list below.

Boy, this release was HUGE!!! I have been having so much fun playing in my craft room!! You can view the new release HERE.

I have two cards to share with you today!! The first features the new Spring Chicks stamp set and Coordinating Honey Cuts, along with lots of other new goodies!!

Cluck-It-1

How fun is this??!! I made this an A7 size, so I could fit everything that I wanted to…LOL!!

I began by stamping the images from Spring Chicks with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink onto white cardstock and coloring them with Copics. I used the Coordinating Honey Cuts to cut them out. Next, I die-cut the Chicken Coop from white, red and yellow cardstock. I colored the coop with Copics to resemble wood grain. The background was cut from Bristol paper using the largest of the Scallop A7 Card Frames Honey Cuts. I used the cloud stencil from Outdoor Scene Builders Set and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide to create the sky. Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxides were blended onto another piece of Bristol and the Grass Border Die was cut from it twice. I cut the bottom of the grass pieces with the Scallop A7 Dies, so that the bottoms would line up nicely. The sentiment (don’t you just love this?), from EGGcelent Sentiments, was white heat embossed onto black cardstock and cut out with the Coordinating Honey Cuts. I wanted to fill in more of the sky, so I cut a few clouds from white cardstock using the Partly Cloudy Honey Cuts. All that was left was to adhere everything together. I used liquid adhesive to adhere the grass, but most of the other images are popped up with foam adhesive for lots of dimension!!

My second card pairs one of the kitties from Oh My Whiskers with a sentiment from Thanks A Bunch

Thanks-a-Bunch-Cat

For this one, I stamped the kitten with the bunch of balloons from Oh My Whiskers onto white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored it with Copics. The Oh My Whiskers Honey Cuts were used to cut out the image. The sentiment, from Thanks A Bunch, was white heat embossed onto black cardstock and cut out with the Coordinating Honey Cuts. I also used the same die to cut a drop shadow from silver glitter paper. For the background, the cloud stencil, from the Outdoor Scene Builder Set (this has to be my most used stencil!), was used with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide on Bristol paper. I trimmed each side of the Bristol panel and matted it with black and white striped pattern paper and black cardstock. The die-cut sentiment and kitten were both popped up with foam adhesive. A Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen adds some sparkle to the balloons, while a healthy coat of Glossy Accents adds lots of shine. I used a black glaze pen to make the kitten’s eyes stand out a little more. Finally, a sprinkling of Aurora Lights Confetti Mix finishes off the card nicely!!

Don’t tell my family, or our dog! 😉 Super cute and I also really like your loose watercolor of the butterflies! Oh my, so beautiful! But your chick card with the coop!
