You Are Beary Special – Honey Bee

Hello all!! Welcome back for Honey Bee Tuesday!! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!!

I have two young nieces and their birthdays are both in December!! So, needless to say, I needed a couple of cards. Katy turned 9 on December 20th & I knew I wanted to make a shaker card and her favorite color is aqua (a girl after my own heart!).

As I was making my Christmas cards this year, I thought this Globe/Ornament Shaker Card Honey Cut die-cut would make an awesome balloon. So I set out to make that happen and this is what I came up with…

How cute is this?? Here’s how I made it!! I began by cutting the back of the Globe/Ornament Shaker Card Honey Cut from Bristol cardstock and ink blended some Distress Oxide Inks through the heart stencil onto it from the Fall Shower Stencil pack. I also cut the transparency from the same die, while I had it out. Next, I used the front portion of the die and cut it from aqua glitter paper and heavyweight cardstock. I cut it from white cardstock several more times, as I intended to stack the die-cuts to create the shaker well. I freehanded the neck portion of the balloon onto the background, cut it out, then used it as a template to trace and cut the other die-cuts. All of the white die-cut pieces were adhered together, with the transparency sandwiched between those and the aqua glitter paper. I stamped the adorable bear from Flakey Friends with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored him with Copic markers, before cutting with the Coordinating Die. I die-cut the “You” from aqua glitter paper with a die that was included as a special bonus that I received when I placed an order while Honey Bee was moving into their new retail storefront. The bear and “you” were adhered to the heart background. Then I placed a combination of the Celebration Sequin Mix and Unicorn Rhinestones in the center and adhered the front part of the balloon on top. The “are beary special” (also from Flakey Friends) was stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder onto aqua cardstock. That was cut into a narrow banner and placed on the outside of the transparency. Lastly, some aqua & white twine was tied around the neck of the balloon.

I had so much fun making this!!

Thanks so much for dropping by today!! Have a great week!!!
