The Ton Summer Kick Off Blog Hop

Hello & happy Friday!!! The Ton is having a Summer Kick Off Blog Hop today and I am the last stop!! You should have arrived here from the super talented Mayline Jung’s Blog. There is a complete list below, if you happen to get lost, or have missed one along the way. There is also a stamp set to be given away for each stop on the hop, so make sure you comment along the way!!!

Effie has released so many beautiful stamps since the beginning of the year!! Beautiful florals and butterflies, which are perfect for all occasions and seasons, especially the summer months.

I have created three cards to share with you today!!! The first one combines the Daisy Close Up Cling Background with the Butterfly Wings – Swallowtail

I began by stamping the Daisy Close Up with Frosted Vanilla Cupcake Ink and watercolored it with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. After it was dry, I added some additional details with colored pencils. The Butterfly Wings – Swallowtail was stamped with Caviar Ink and colored with Copics, before cutting with the outline die from Pop-Up Butterfly Dies – Swallowtail. The sentiment, from Dahlia Bouquet, was heat embossed with white embossing powder onto a strip of black cardstock. The butterfly was popped up with dimensional adhesive, for added dimension. A few sequins from the Milky Way and Lilac Blossoms Couture Mixes finish off this bright and colorful card!!

My next card combines the Blooming Peony Garden Cling Background stamp with a surprise on the inside…

The Blooming Peony Garden was heat embossed in gold onto Bristol paper. I selected pretty pink & green Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and watercolored the panel. The panel was trimmed down slightly and adhered to a piece of pink cardstock. The “happy” sentiment was cut with the Bold General Word Plate Dies from gold glitter paper and green cardstock, then adhered with dimensional adhesive. “Birthday”, from the Dahlia Bouquet set, was heat embossed in gold onto a strip of pink cardstock, before adhering over the “happy” sentiment with foam adhesive. Medallion Gold Sequins finish off the outside of the card.

The real surprise comes when you open the card…These dies are so innovative!!! The Pop-Up Butterfly Dies – Monarch was cut from gold glitter paper and adhered to the inside of the card. I used the same pink cardstock that I used on the outside to cover the tabs from the monarch.

Lastly, from the first time I saw these dies, I wanted to create a shaker with one of them…

I used alcohol inks and Yupo paper to blend the background panel. The Pop-Up Butterfly Dies – Morpho were used here. I used the outline die to cut the outline from the Yupo background. The detail die was cut from silver glitter paper. After adhering the acetate for the shaker, the detail die was adhered to the acetate. The sentiment, from Hello Hummingbird, was heat embossed in silver on black cardstock. It was fussy cut before being adhered to the lower left corner. A combination of Blue Ice, Milky Way, Lilac Blossoms and Violet Sprinkle Couture Mixes make up the shaker component.

Here is a complete list for the hop…be sure to leave some love along the way!! There are GIVEAWAYS!!! There will be a stamp set giveaway for each stop on the hop. Participants must leave a comment on each blog to qualify.
