Spellbinders Decorative Glimmer Blog Hop

Hello there!! I am super excited to be participating in a blog hop for Spellbinders!!! Today, we are featuring the Decorative Glimmer Collection!!

If you arrived here from the uber talented Caly Person’s Blog, you are on the right track. Be sure to start at the Spellbinders Blog and visit each stop on the hop. (I have also included a complete list of designers further down in this post.) Keep reading for more info on the super prizes up for grabs.

I have two cards to share with you today!! There is nothing that takes your cards up a notch like foiling does!! The Glimmer Hot Foil System makes adding foil a breeze. Yana Smakula has some wonderful YouTube videos with helpful hints to aid in using hot foil.

For my first card, I hot foiled the Flower Pattern Glimmer Hot Foil Plate with Matte Gold Foil onto Bristol paper. I watercolored this beautiful background with watercolor markers. I love how the foil resists the watercolor! Once the panel was dry, I trimmed a bit off of the top and bottom and matted it onto light blue cardstock.

The Hello Glimmer Hot Foil Platewas also foiled with Matte Gold Foil onto Bristol. I die-cut it with the included die and added a light blue watercolor wash to match the background. I popped the Hello die-cut up in the center of my floral background with foam adhesive.

This Flower Pattern Glimmer Hot Foil Plate was love at first sight for me!! I thoroughly enjoyed adding watercolor to the foiled images!!

My second card features the ornate Fanciful Corners Glimmer Hot Foil Plate with Aura Foil.

The Aura Foil is just stunning!! I wish I could capture it in photos!

I began by foiling the Fanciful Corners Glimmer Hot Foil Plate in each corner of a panel of dark blue cardstock. I used pieces of washi tape to hold the plates in place. The panel was trimmed slightly and matted onto a panel of metallic gold paper and then an A2 panel of the same dark blue cardstock. I foiled the Hello Glimmer Hot Foil Plate onto blue cardstock and cut it out with the die. I also die-cut a piece of metallic gold paper and adhered it behind the foiled one, slightly offset.

I adhered the die-cuts in the center of the background panel with foam adhesive and called it done!!

I am the last stop on the hop!! Here is a complete list of all of the stops!! Be sure to comment along the way for a chance to win one of the fabulous prizes listed below!!!
