Spellbinders Blog Hop

I am trilled to be participating in the Spellbinders New Collections Inspiration Blog Hop today!!! You should have arrived here from Svitlana Shayevich’s blog. If you want to start at the beginning or get lost along the way, you can find a complete list on the Spellbinders blog.

I had the pleasure of working with two sets from the Inked Messages Collection by Stephanie Low: Bloom Where You Are Planted & Fair Thee Well. These sets both come with the red rubber stamps & the dies to match!!!

I have two cards to share with you today…

My first card uses the Bloom Where You Are Planted set only for this simple card…

To begin, I cut a piece of Bristol paper slightly smaller than A2 and stamped the flowers from Bloom Where You Are Planted with Versamark Ink and heat embossed them in white. I colored the flowers and the background with Zig Clean Color Markers, adding black splatters after the panel was dry. The sentiment was white heat embossed onto black cardstock and cut with the coordinating die included in the set. I also die-cut the sentiment shape from black fun foam and adhered the sentiment to it, for some added dimension. The watercolored panel was matted onto a black piece of cardstock that was cut to an A2 size. Easy peasy!! This was so much fun to color!!

The second card is a little more involved and combines both sets…

I began by stamping the flowers from Bloom Where You Are Planted & the good luck image from Fare Thee Well onto white cardstock with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink. I colored all the images with Copic markers, die-cutting the flowers with the coordinating dies. The good luck image was fussy cut, as I needed it to be smaller than the die. The black cardstock was temporarily adhered to the card base and the coordinating die for the good luck die was cut from both layers. The flowers were adhered to the black panel, trimming off the pieces that hung off the edges. A white piece of cardstock that was edged with black was adhered to the inside of the card. The fussy cut good luck image was adhered with foam adhesive onto the inside of the card, centering it in the middle of the die-cut opening. A white gel pen was used to add some dots to the card front, tying it all together and adding some interest.

Next up on the hop is Rubeena Ianigro. Make sure you leave comments along the way to win some fabulous prizes!!!
