Happy National Honey Bee Day!!!

Happy World Honey Bee Day!! Some of the Honey Bee design team members are taking part in the To Bee or Not To Bee Blog Hop to celebrate! Honey Bee has so many great bee themed products to choose from that I didn’t know where to start!! I had several goodies from the newest release that I haven’t had a chance to play with yet, so that’s the route that I went!

I began with my background…I used the Hexagon Pattern Stencil and blended Mustard Seed and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Inks onto Bristol paper. The second largest of the Double Stitched Polygon Honey Cuts was die-cut from the center of the ink-blended panel. I adhered the die-cut to the center of my cardbase, so the pattern would be continuous through the shaker window. The next smallest Double Stitched Polygon was used to cut the center from a panel of black cardstock to create the shaker window. For the greeting, the Hi Honey Dies were cut from yellow and black cardstock. The Bee Paper Piecing Honey Cuts were also cut out using the same yellow and black cardstock. I glued vellum to the back of the wings and fussy cut around them. The shaker mix is a combination of Hexagon Sequins and the Sunny Day sequin mix (which are both retired)!!

  1. Brenda, your Bee shaker card is fabulous! Such a cute triple of bee dies!
    Love it, it’s pure honey!
It’s a fabulous BlogHop and I’m happy about how all the beautiful cards show the love and respect for these helpful little insects!

    Kind greetings from Wiebke (KomMa-designed)

  2. AWESOME creation! I love shakers! This is the BEE’S KNEES HOP! My husband & I host 60 to 80 bee hives on our 5 acre place for the summer (to get them out of the heat) for a bee keeper from California after they are through pollinating the orange and nut orchards.

  3. Brenda, I like the bold outlines on this card! It really grabbed my attention and the bees are so buzz-worthy and cute! Love the hexagons all over the card; the polygon was a great touch to capture the viewer’s eye! I think it is bee-utiful card!

  4. I really like the contrast of this card and the pop of the hexagons and polygons! IT is bee-utiful!
