I recently had the pleasure of working with the Spellbinders Small Die of the Month Kit for August.

It always blows my mind how much you get for your money!! And how darling are these little birdies?

I started off by ink blending some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink onto Bristol paper using the cloud stencil from the Outdoor Scene Builder Stencils from Honey Bee Stamps. I trimmed the center of the panel and matted both layers with pale blue cardstock. I die-cut the birds, branches and several flowers from Bristol paper. Distress Oxides Inks were blended onto the die-cuts using Mowed Lawn & Twisted Citron on the branches; Mustard Seed on the birds; and Picked Raspberry & Spun Sugar on the flowers. Colored pencils were used to add some detail to the die-cuts. Gloss Ebony Nuvo Drops accent the birds’ eyes, while Red Berry Nuvo Drops add some dimension to the center of the flowers. The sentiment, from The Ton’s Hello Hummingbird stamp set was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and clear heat embossed. The branches were adhered flat to the center panel & the birds and flowers were popped up with dimensional adhesive. Finally, Honey Bee Stamps Shooting Star Confetti was sprinkled on to add a little shine.
