The Ton is celebrating 4 years this month and Effie has introduced 9 new designs for this release. There are some free gifts with purchase promotions ongoing. Head over to The Ton Stamps’ blog for more details.

I have two cards to share with you today!!

The first was created with the Happy Place stamp set. This set is great for all of us readers out there. Are you a reader? I NEED to read every night before I can fall asleep!! Anyone else? Plus, I just LOVE the sentiments in the set!!

Book-peony1

I started by stamping the image from Happy Place onto white cardstock with Caviar Ink. After coloring it with Copic markers, I fussy cut the image. For the background, I stamped the Buildable Woodgrain on a diagonal at the bottom of a white cardstock panel. I used Warm Hazelnut and Aspen Cocoa for the woodgrain. I taped off the top edge of the stamped woodgrain and ink blended Cali Blue toward the top of the panel. The Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Small) were used to die-cut the panel. The sentiment, also from Happy Place, was stamped with Noir Ink directly onto the background panel. The florals and book were popped up with foam adhesive. A few sequins from the Pink Diamond Couture Mix finished off the card.

My next card was created with the stunning Peony Close-Up Cling Background.

Peony-Close-up1

I began by white heat embossing the Peony Close-Up Cling Background stamp onto watercolor paper. I watercolored it with Ken Oliver Color Bursts. After it was dry, I trimmed it slightly and matted it on a purple cardstock panel, then a 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ notecard. The sentiment was die-cut using the XOXO Mini Die with silver glitter paper. The remainder of the sentiment, from the XOXO mini stamp set, was white heat embossed onto a purple cardstock strip. Both the die-cut and sentiment strip were popped up with foam adhesive. I pulled some sequins from the Violet Sprinkle, Amethyst Quartz & Glass Slippers Couture Mixes to complement the colors in the peony.
