You’re Bee-You-Tiful – Autism Awareness

Hello everyone!! I am participating in the Autism Awareness Blog Hop today and we are painting the crafting community blue for World Autism Awareness Day!! So many families are impacted by Autism and I am honored to create a project to help bring about more awareness.

I have combined products from the two design teams that I design for to create this project…Honey Bee Stamps & The Ton

I began by die-cutting the front panel from Bristol cardstock with the largest of the A2 Double Stitched Frames Honey Cut Dies. I cut the heart from the center of the panel with the Heart Jigsaw Die. The cloud stencil from the Outdoor Scene Builder set was blended with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink onto the panel. The background panel was also created by ink blending Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Inks onto Bristol paper. The Hexagon Bunches Die was cut a couple of times from blue cardstock and adhered to the blue ink-blended background, to show through the heart die-cut area. I used a combination of Squeezed Lemonade and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxides on Bristol to create elements for my sentiment. The puzzle pieces are also from the Heart Jigsaw Die; they were cut from blue cardstock and the yellow ink-blended background, before stamping the sentiment (from the Perfect Fit Sentiment set) in Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I thought the puzzle piece was an awesome addition, since it is a symbol that is often associated with Autism. The ‘BEE” and ‘tiful”, from the Be-You-Tiful Sentiments, were also stamped onto strips of the yellow ink-blended background with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. The “you” die-cut is from the Gift Card Slots Honey Cut Die…it was cut once from the yellow ink-blended background and three times from black cardstock, adhering them on top of each other, creating a dimensional die-cut. The bee, from Build-A-Bee was stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored with Copic markers, then die-cut with the Coordinating Honey Cut Die. The heart die-cut panel, puzzle pieces, sentiment strips and bee were all adhered with dimensional adhesive. Lastly, a few sequins from the Clear Iris Mix were scattered about, adding the perfect amount of shine.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! If you would like to start at the beginning of the hop, here is the link.
