The Ton – January Challenge

Cheers to you & Happy New Year!!!! It’s January 1 & time for a new challenge over on The Ton’s Challenge Blog!! This month the cue word is “CHEERS”!!Here’s what I created for the challenge…

When I think of “cheers”, I think of confetti and making some type of a toast…in this case, to a new year!! I began by stamping the Occasion Confetti stamp in a rainbow of colors: Valentine Red, Coralline, Amber Citrine, Bright Fern, Parisian Blue & Iris Blooms inks. I used two of the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Large) taped together to cut a frame from the stamped background. I also cut the frame from heavy weight white cardstock several times to adhere together & form the shaker portion of the card. Next, I stamped the Beer layering stamp with Vanilla Frosted Cupcake, Beach Blondie, Amber Citrine, Crystal Pewter, Smoky Quartz & Hampton White Pigment Ink. I heat embossed the foam with Silver Pearl Embossing Powder while the white ink was still wet. I used the Beer Coordinating Die to cut out the mug. Crystal Glaze was applied to the mug, to create a shiny appearance. On the foam, Tonic Nuvo Gloss White was applied over the foam, adding some crystal fine glitter while it was still wet. I set that aside to dry, then put together the shaker portion of the card using these Couture Mixes: Deck the Halls, Belle’s Dress, Frosted Spearmint, Blue Ice, Summer Skies, Milky Way. I also added Glass Slippers Confetti Mix & Clear Rhinestones for more sparkle & shine. After the mug was completely dry, it was adhered onto the front of the shaker. The sentiment is also from the Beer set. It was stamped onto a strip of black cardstock with Hampton White Pigment Ink and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder. The ends of the strip were notched and added to the front of the card. I really love how this turned out!! It’s so festive!!!

I hope you will come join us over on The Ton’s Challenge Blog!! There is a $50 gift certificate to The Ton’s Store for the winner!! Wouldn’t that come in handy after all of the holiday spending???

Thanks for coming by today!!! Wishing you a happy & prosperous new year!!!
