Hooray – Honey Bee

Hooray!! It’s New Year’s Eve!! It’s also the owner of Honey Bee, Melissa Hewitt’s birthday today!! Happy birthday Melissa!! And she is giving YOU a gift for HER birthday!! How cool is that?

Members of the design team are creating projects using the Celebration Box set!! Here’s my project…To begin, I blended Distress Oxide Inks through a stencil from the Ocean Scene Builders Set onto Bristol cardstock. Next, I stamped the box, tissue, and balloons from Celebration Box with Versafine Onyx Black Ink onto Bristol cardstock, then colored them with Zig Clean Color Markers. I then fussy cut all the images & used a Momento Black Marker to eliminate the white core of the paper on the edges. I used the same colors of Distress Oxide Inks to stamp some of the confetti onto the background. I also mixed each color of ink with water and flicked it onto the background panel with a paint brush. After that was dry, I temporarily placed all the elements onto the card base, marking the placement in pencil. This gave me a good idea of where to stamp the balloon strings onto the background panel, which I also stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I adhered the background panel onto a piece of black cardstock and then a top-folding note card. Next, I attached the tissue to the back of the box and the popped it all onto dimensional adhesive. The balloons were also adhered with foam adhesive. I blended the Distress Oxide Inks onto Bristol cardstock and then used the Hooray Honey Cut Die to cut the sentiment from it. The second layer was cut from black cardstock. The Hooray was adhered right onto the box. A Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Tip Pen was used to add a little sparkle to the balloons and Hooray die. A sprinkling of Clear Iris Mix Sequins add the perfect finishing touch!!

Thanks for joining me today!! Be sure to visit the Honey Bee Blog for more inspiration & to send your birthday wishes to Melissa!!!

Have a wonderful New Year’s Eve!!!
