Hello there!! It’s release week at Honey Bee!!! There are so many adorable images in this release!! Be sure to check out the Honey Bee Blog for all the sneaks this week!!!

This is Day 2 of sneak peeks & today we are featuring Penny the Platypus & Congrats Grad.

The card I’m sharing today uses Penny the Platypus and Cheerful Sentiments, which you saw yesterday. Be sure to watch for the huge blog hop scheduled for Friday & Saturday!! I will have a card then showcasing the Congrats Grad set. There will be lots of fun and prizes to be had!! All of the products will be available for purchase on Thursday night, at midnight CST!!! (Links for new release items will be live then, also.)

Isn’t Penny adorable??? I stamped her with a light ink to do some no-line coloring. I have to honest, I wasn’t real sure what a platypus looked like, so Google to the rescue!! Once I figured out what colors platypuses were, I colored her with Copics and added colored pencil to add a lot of detail. I also colored the flowers from the set the same way. I fussy cut the platypus and flowers and set them aside to make my background. I decided to create a little water scene using a stencil from the Ocean Scene Builder set. First, I masked off the water area, to create a hard line between the water & the sky. I blended Salty Ocean & Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Inks through the Water Light Reflection stencil to create some ripples in the water. The Cloud Borders Honey Cut dies were cut from white cardstock and used as stencils with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink to create the clouds in the background. The Ocean Elements stencil, also from the Ocean Scene Builder set, was used with Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink to create the vines on the background panel. I went in with Copics and a fine line marker to add more details to the vines. A die from the A2 Double Stitched Frames Honey Cuts was used to cut the center from the background panel. That panel was placed onto fun foam and adhered right back in the center of the background panel. The sentiment is from the Cheerful Sentiments set, and was stamped onto the center panel with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink. There are so many great words & phrases in this set…it is a must have!! I adhered Penny and the flowers to the center panel with foam adhesive. Gloss Ebony & Gloss White Nuvo Drops were added to Penny’s eyes for dimension and shine. I also added details with a white gel pen. Lastly, a few hearts from a new mix were added.

Thanks so much for visiting today!!! Be sure to check back on Saturday, for Day 2 of the HUGE blog hop!!!
