Thanks – Act of Kindness – Honey Bee

Happy Honey Bee Tuesday everyone!!

I hope you got your order in for the New Fall Release goodies!! What an amazing release, huh? Today I combined a couple of components from the new release with one of my favorite older die-cuts for an autumnal thank you card…

I started of by using my beloved Distress Oxide Inks,  ink blending them onto a background panel. I spritzed it with water, then absorbed the water and some of the color with a paper towel to create some texture. I stamped the leaves from the Bushel And A Peck set multiple times onto Bristol paper with Versamark and heat embossed them with gold embossing powder. The leaves were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, then fussy cut after they were dry. I cut the Thanks with the Large Thanks Honey Cut, coated with Versamark, then gold embossing powder. I repeated this step two times to build up the thickness of die. The sentiment is from the Forest Friends set and was also heat embossed with gold powder toward the bottom of the ink blended background. I used a Versamark marker and gold embossing powder to create small dots around where the sentiment and wreath would be placed. The leaves were placed into a wreath and adhered with foam adhesive. Lastly, the embossed Thanks die was adhered across the wreath.

I really appreciate you taking the time to stop by today!! Have a GREAT day!!!

Wedding Congratulations

Hello everyone!! Happy Monday…if there is such a thing…lol!! I hope your week is off to a great start!!!

I had a good friend who was getting married recently and I needed to make her wedding card. My mind quickly went to the elegant floral stamps from The Ton!! When it comes to florals, no one does it better!!!

I chose to go with the Wildflower Banner stamp & die. The banner can be customized for your particular occasion. I knew from the wedding invitation that the bride was using a soft, pastel color scheme; so I chose to do some no-line coloring to reflect that. I stamped the image with distress ink, then colored it with Copic markers and colored pencils. The image was then die-cut with the Coordinating Die. The Congratulations sentiment was added with Soft Amethyst Ink. I also used the Wishful Wildflower set with the Soft Amethyst Ink to stamp a tone-on-tone background onto lilac cardstock. The die-cut image was adhered with foam adhesive to the background panel. Glass Slippers Round Confetti Mix was the perfect touch to add a little sparkle!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a great week!!!

Honey Bee Fall Release Blog Hop

Hi Crafty Friends!!

The Honey Bee Stamps Fall Release has been happening all week & the fantastic fall products are now available in the Honey Bee Shop!!! To celebrate the new release, we are having the Happy Fall Y’all Blog Hop. So grab your cup of Pumpkin Spice Latte, or whatever cozy drink you love and hop along with us to get you in the fall frame of mind! I am beyond thrilled to be a part of this hop!! I am the second stop on the hop, after Amy. Next up is Carly. There is a complete list with links below, if you happen to lose your way…Be sure to visit each blog & leave a comment, you don’t want to miss out on any of the fun prizes!!! We will be giving away TWO $50 gift cards to the Honey Bee Stamps store. Winners will be posted on our blog Monday, September 25th.

My first card is a shaker card featuring the adorable Bushel And A Peck set. Such a cute set & so appropriate for this time of year!! Apple picking in the fall!!

I began my stamping all the images from the set with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Neenah Solar White Cardstock and colored them with Copic markers. I added some additional details with colored pencils. I fussy cut all the images right up to the black line and used a Momento Tuxedo Blacker marker around the edge, to get rid on the white core…it really makes such a difference in making everything look “finished”. I ink blended Distress Oxide Inks onto the background, spritzed with water and picked up some of the color with a paper towel. The largest die of the A2 Double Stitched Frames was used to cut a frame for the shaker. I combined some of the fussy cut leaves with some Clear Bubbles, for the “shaker” elements. The sentiment is perfectly sized to fit inside the top rim of the basket and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. The apples and basket were adhered as shown, using foam tape in places for added dimension. I loved coloring this set and can’t wait to make another card with it!!!

I love finding other ways to use my stamp sets…concentrating on part of the image, in order to stretch my stamps. I thought the umbrella from the Seasonal Sweeties set was so cute and perfect for creating a baby shower card.
The image was stamped several times onto Neenah Solar White Cardstock with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink. I used Copic markers to color the umbrellas, then fussy cut them out. I used my homemade stencil (made with the Cloud Borders Honey Cut Dies) and some Distress Oxide Ink to create some clouds on the background panel, before cutting with the A2 Double Stitched Frames. After deciding where each umbrella top would be placed, I used a ruler and black marker to continue the stem and handle right onto the background panel. The sentiment was stamped with Versafine onyx Black Ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The umbrellas were then mounted with foam adhesive onto the background panel. This turned out even better than I had pictured it in my mind. I encourage you to look at each element in your sets, to see how they can be used in different ways!!!
Here is the complete blog hop list, as promised…

That’s it for me today!! Thanks so much for stopping by!!! Be sure to keep hopping for some amazing inspiration from the rest of the team!!!

Seasonal Sweeties – Honey Bee

Welcome back to Fall Release Week at Honey Bee Stamps!! Today I have a preview of the cutie-patootie stamp set Seasonal Sweeties!!!

See what I mean??

I began by stamping the cute girl image onto a panel of cardstock with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink and coloring with Copic markers. I masked the image and used Distress Oxide Inks for the grass. I die cut some clouds from Cloud Borders Honey Cuts and used them as a stencil with Distress Oxide Inks to create the clouds. I splattered water and picked up some of the color with a paper towel. After that was dry, I stamped the sentiment with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink. Distress Oxide Ink was used to stamp the raindrops onto the panel. Next, I removed the masks and went over the grass with Copic markers. I used a Wink of Stella Clear Pen to add some sparkle to the raindrops. Partly Cloudy Honey Cuts were used to cut the clouds, then they were popped onto foam adhesive, for some dimension. I shadowed the sentiment with a red Tombow marker, then cut the panel with the A2 Double Stitched Rectangle Frames Honey Cuts. The panel was adhered onto some fun foam and then the card base made of gray cardstock. Finally, a white gel pen was used to add some detail to the eyes, scarf and small umbrella.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Make sure you head over to the Honey Bee Blog for more inspiration and check back on Friday for a Blog Hop. All of the products we have featured all week will also be available for purchase on Friday!!!

Forest Friends – Honey Bee

Hello everyone!! Welcome back to Honey Bee Tuesday!! It is my regular day of the week for Honey Bee, but I also have posts set for Wednesday and Friday this week, so make sure you come back for those!! There is a new Fall Release this week and today I have used the Forest Friends stamp set…

Isn’t this stamp adorable?? And I LOVE the quote…so true.

I started by inking a background panel with Distress Oxide Inks, then spritzing with water, lifting some of the color for more interest. It seems I have found myself addicted to theses Distress Oxide Inks…anyone else?? They blend like butter!! While that dried, I stamped the image from Forest Friends with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copic markers. I also used Copic markers to draw a fall tree and some fallen leaves onto the background, once it was dry. The quote was white heat embossed at the top of the panel over the tree. The critter image was fussy cut and popped up onto the panel with foam adhesive. I stamped, colored and fussy cut one of the hearts from the set, before covering with Wink of Stella Clear Pen and Morning Dew Nuvo Drops. The heart was also popped up with foam adhesive. The final step was some Black Nuvo Drops for the eyes of the critters.

Thanks so much for stopping by…be sure to come back tomorrow for the preview of another stamp set!! Head over to Honey Bee Stamps Blog for more inspiration!!

Sending Sunshine on a Cloudy Day – Honey Bee

Hello everyone & welcome back for Honey Bee Tuesday!!!

My heart is heavy for everyone experiencing the hurricanes, wildfires & earthquakes lately. So many horrible things going on right now. Even if you haven’t experienced any of these tragedies, sometimes you just need some sunshine on a cloudy day…

I started out by using the Sunburst A2 Cover Plate Honey Cut with some gold glittered paper. I placed the sunshine onto the upper corner of a panel of blue cardstock. I die-cut the clouds from Cloud Borders Honey Cuts and placed along the bottom of the panel. The “Sending” from the Sending Sunshine set was white heat embossed directly onto the blue panel. The “On A Cloudy Day” is also from Sending Sunshine and was stamped onto the top border cloud in black ink. This stamp and die set was created especially for the Ellen Hutson “United We Flourish” event & is so fabulous!! I used the die from the Ray of Sunshine Honey Cuts to die-cut the “Sunshine” from the gold glitter paper & vellum. The Partly Cloudy dies were used to cut clouds from white cardstock and adhered over the sunshine. I used a bee from one of the Free Bees that was included in one of my orders to stamp onto the glitter paper with StazOn Ink and cut with the coordinating die. The panel was backed with gold glitter paper and adhered to a white card base. Clear Bubbles Sequin Mix added even more sparkle!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope if you are having a cloudy day, that this provides a ray of sunshine!!!

The Ton’s Fall 2017 Release – Blog Hop

Hi all!!! Welcome back!!! All of the products that have been featured this week are available in The Ton’s Shop now!!! You are in for a treat today!! We have an amazing blog hop for you…full of inspiration!!! Have you enjoyed the new release?? What has been your favorite? I would love to know…

You should have arrived here from the fabulous Laurel Beard. Next on the hop is Taheerah Atchia. There is a complete list below, if you get lost along the way. Also, make sure you leave lots of love along the way…there are some great prizes up for grabs!!!

I love using unconventional colors for my holiday cards!! My first cards today are perfect examples of the type of cards that I like to send.

I started off stamping the Holiday Love Poinsettia image onto heavy weight cardstock with Caviar Ink and fussy cutting them, although the coordinating dies are now available. Copic markers were used to color these fabulous images. I stamped the Minor Stripes Cling Background onto white paper with Noir Ink, then cut strips on the diagonal. I cut a black panel and splattered it with watered-down white paint and some Clear Wink of Stella for shimmer. After the panel was dry, I stamped the sentiments with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The black panel was adhered onto colored cardstock. The stamped stripe strips and Silver Glitter Tape were adhered to the card base, with the main panel being placed on top. The poinsettia images were popped up with foam adhesive onto the card panel. Silver Stickles highlighted the center of the flowers, as well as some spots on the black background. Clear Rhinestones were placed onto the flowers to mimic dew drops.

My next two cards are not holiday related…I cannot get enough of the magnolias in this release!!!

This card uses the beautiful Magnificent Magnolias set. The flowers were stamped around a black panel with Hampton White Pigment Ink. I used polychromos colored pencils to first fill in each petal with white, then added the color over it. The sentiment is from Large Floral: Carnations and was heat embossed in white. I cut a small strip from the bottom of the panel. The strip with the sentiment is adhered flat to the panel, while the bottom strip and large top portion are popped up with foam adhesive. Some sequins from the Blue Ice Couture Mix were the finishing touch.

Here is my last card…see what I mean about the magnolias??

This card was created by first heat embossing the Magnolia Fields Cling Background onto Bristol paper. Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers were used to color the image. The sentiment is from the Occasion Confetti set & was  also heat embossed in white onto a strip of vellum. A mixture of sequins from the Blue Ice Couture Mix added the perfect amount of bling!!

The Ton’s Fall 2017 Release – Day 4

Welcome back to Day 4 of The Ton’s fabulous Fall Release!!! Today is the day!!! All of the new products featured this week are now available in The Ton’s Shop!! Be sure to come back tomorrow for a huge blog hop full of insane inspiration from the design team and some special guests!! Don’t forget to leave comments along the way for a chance to win some great prizes!!

I have one card today combines almost every set being featured today to create a cozy fireplace scene. Oh, the possibilities!!!

I started by stamping the Scenes: Fireplace Cling Background onto heavyweight, white cardstock with Caviar Ink, then die-cutting with the largest of the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Large). I also stamped images from Fireplace AccessoriesFireplace Holiday Accessories, Holiday Ballet and City Girls: Winter Edition with Caviar Ink. The wreath and garland were stamped with Bright Fern Ink. All of the images were colored with Copic markers, then fussy cut up to the stamped edge. I used a black marker around the edges of the cut images, so the white core of the paper would not be visible. After determining placement of all the images, they were adhered with foam adhesive…some with a double layer. Deck the Halls Couture Mix was used to add ornaments to the tree and embellish the wreath. Can’t you just hear the crackling fire and Christmas carols? This card took some time, but I think it was time well spent!!

The Ton’s Fall 2017 Release – Day 3

Welcome back to Day 3 of The Ton’s Fall Release!!! Tomorrow is the last day of previews and you will be able purchase all of these fantastic products!! We have a huge blog hop scheduled for Friday that you do not want to miss!! Don’t forget to leave comments along the way for a chance to win some great prizes!!

If you love poinsettias the way I do, you are going to LOVE today’s new goodies!! I never knew poinsettias came in so many different colors!! A quick Google search showed all the colors of the rainbow!! For my first card, I decided to go traditional…

Don’t you just love this cluster of poinsettias in the Cozy Poinsettia set? I began by stamping the cluster with Caviar Ink, since I intended to color it with Copic markers. I also added some additional shading and details with colored pencils. I fussy cut the cluster along the top of the image, although the Coordinated Die will  also be available. The sentiment is a combination of the Good Tidings Cluster set and the Cozy Poinsettia. It was also stamped with Caviar Ink and shaded with a Copic marker. The front panel was cut from red cardstock. The Good Tidings Cluster was stamped in each corner with Versamark and heat embossed with gold sparkle embossing powder. The Minor Stripes Cling Background stamp was stamped onto white cardstock with Noir Ink. I cut a strip on a diagonal and placed it under the fussy cut panel, which was adhered with foam adhesive for some added dimension. A bit of gold Stickles and some small clear sequins from the Milky Way Couture Mix finished off the card.

My next card is one of my favorites!!

I stamped and heat embossed the Poinsettia Background Cling Stamp onto Bristol paper with white embossing powder. Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers were used to color the poinsettia. The panel was trimmed down to create a 5 1/2″ X 5 1/2″ card. I selected coordinating cardstock from my stash to mat the panel onto. The sentiment from Holiday Love Poinsettia was stamped onto a strip of vellum and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I did some selective stamping and left of the word Love from the stamped sentiment. I instead replaced it with the Hello Word Die, which was cut from the same green cardstock and from white cardstock four times. The die cuts were stacked on top of each other, then adhered to the vellum strip. Frosted Spearmint Couture Mix provided the perfect green to accent the sentiment.
